Students will gain skill and confidence in literary analysis.  Students will write and edit a fantasy project they can be proud of!

I am eager to have your learner join the students from 5-50 to whom I have taught English. Although my original BA is in Psychology, I have taught both ESL and English at three different Universities abroad.  I love students and I love literature. I have written a published non-fiction book, have another at the publisher, and have a completed novel in the editing process. I am eager to help North American students get a worldwide perspective on literature drawing from my own experiences as a reader and a traveler.

Homework is a very important part of this class.  Students will be assigned both reading, writing and watching homework each week.  To understand and benefit from the class this must be done before class.  Students will also spend 3 weeks creating a story, 1 week peer-editing, 1 week revising, and then present their stories to the class.

We will read "Elantris" by Brandon Sanderson.  This book needs to either be purchased or gotten from the library in time for students to read before the first class.  We will also be watching sections of Brandon Sanderson's lectures for free on Youtube for homework.
