Introducing our Exciting Dragon Book Club for Creative Kids!

Get ready to ignite your child's imagination with our captivating Dragon Book Club!
This interactive class will immerse your child in the mesmerizing world of dragons and the thrilling Wings of Fire book series. Plus, we'll unleash their artistic talents as they learn to draw magnificent dragon illustrations step by step. Don't miss out on this incredible opportunity for your little dragon enthusiasts!

How It Works:

📚 Each week, students will embark on an independent reading adventure, exploring the enchanting chapters of The Dragonet Prophecy. They can choose to read independently, listen to the audiobook, use a digital reader, or enjoy parent-led reading sessions.

🐉 But that's not all! During our live class meetings, we'll gather in a friendly book club format to discuss the previous week's chapters. Your child will have the chance to share their perceptions and takeaways, fostering a sense of camaraderie among dragon-loving peers.

🎨 In addition to the captivating discussions, we'll unlock your child's inner artist!
Inspired by "The Nightwing's Guide to the Dragons of Pyrrhia" section in the book, students will learn how to skillfully draw seven unique dragon types.
Step by step, they'll bring these magnificent creatures to life on their very own drawing or watercolor paper.

Engaging Schedule:

Meeting ONE: Unleashing Creativity and Setting Expectations

During our first meeting, we'll kick-start the excitement by discussing class expectations and homework requirements. Your child will even get to choose their very own dragon name for the duration of the class—how cool is that? Additionally, they'll sketch a headshot of the main character, Clay the Mudwing. To add to the fun, we'll watch three captivating videos exploring the origins of dragon mythology and the fascinating anatomy of batwings, which serve as inspiration for the dragons in the Wings of Fire series. These videos are a must-see!

I am an artist and photographer specializing in fine art, photography, and art education. I am also an avid reader and I love to discuss books and draw out my ideas and perceptions from them. In addition, I have been a homeschool educator for 16 years. I have taught children's art classes privately and through local after school and children's museum programs. Her photography has appeared in Parents Magazine and numerous photography blogs. I enjoy finding connections between things that don't seem connected upon first glance. To do that, I divide things down to their simplest parts and look for similarities. As a result I am able to break down seemingly complicated projects into simple step by step lessons. I also have a great appreciation for irony in art and life and try to infuse humor and silliness in my lessons and in my own work as well.
