このクラスで学べること

This letter camp is perfect for preschoolers,pre-kindergarten, or kindergarten students who could benefit from extra alphabet practice that incorporates singing, animation, and dancing. These lessons are meant to phonemic awareness and then move into reading CVC and CVCe words. Students learn best through repetition, which is why phonics classes will be beneficial to help reinforce those skills learned during the school year. During this fun interactive course, students will be introduced to short and long vowel sounds while being reintroduced to each letter. Each week, students will review a letter by starting with short vowel sounds and eventually learning long vowel sounds. Students will start with an alphabet warm-up, move on to phonemic awareness, practice skill review by building, writing, or reading words, and lastly, I will show students what they need to do for Independent practice at home. Students will receive links for interactive games and worksheets weekly

Class Schedule:
Week 1: Alphabet Review
We will also brainstorm different objects that start with each letter (ex: "A" is for apple, "B" is for Bear). I will encourage each student to think of something different for each letter. Students will have a scavenger hunt and post pictures of items within the classroom that start with the letters of the week. Students will review writing each letter in order to help develop good letter writing skills. Learn the alphabet sounds and some common word sounds.

Week 2: Letters Bb, Hh, Gg and review of week 1

Then we will move to paper and will proceed with learning the letter sound. We will also brainstorm different objects that start with each letter (ex: "E" is for elephant, "H" is for horse). I will encourage each student to think of something different for each letter. This list is tentative and may change based on learners' knowledge.

We will sing songs, play games, and have fun while learning. Additional resources will be provided to make sure each student is retaining information learned during the camp.

My teaching style is fun and engaging as I often incorporate singing into my lessons because young learners love to sing, dance, and move. This always gives learners a chance to move while still be engaged while learning. I will often use props, slides, and sometimes ask students to find different items around their house to help students visually and aurally identify items that begin with each letter.

Each student will be able to share a toy that starts with one of the letters we have learned at the end of the lesson. This will keep each student excited about their learning process in and outside of class. This class is developed for preschool and kindergarten students.
