週あたり 2-4 時間. Students will complete one major project throughout the course, starting with problem selection and progressing through research, planning, prototyping, testing, and refinement. The project will be explored from multiple perspectives (math, science, social impact, and communication). By the end, students will have a final capstone presentation, where they showcase their work in their chosen format (live presentation, recorded video, slideshow, written report, or another creative medium).修了証書

For Parents: Project-Based Learning (PBL) is transforming education by giving students the skills they need to thrive in the real world. Instead of memorizing facts, students learn by doing—exploring, creating, and solving real-world problems. Self-directed PBL puts students in the driver’s seat, teaching them independence, adaptability, and critical thinking. This approach mirrors the way professionals work in modern careers, making it an excellent foundation for future success. In this eight-week course, students will take on a meaningful challenge, research solutions, build a project step by step, and refine their ideas through feedback and iteration. They’ll develop problem-solving skills, resilience, and confidence as they work toward their final capstone presentation. By the end, they won’t just have a project; they’ll have a real accomplishment that showcases their ability to think creatively and take action. For Students: Imagine looking at a problem in your school, neighborhood, or community and thinking, I can actually do something about this. That’s what this class is all about—taking something you care about and turning it into a real project with an actual solution. In the first week, you’ll choose a challenge that matters to you. It could be reducing waste in your neighborhood, making public spaces safer, improving traffic in your city, helping people access mental health resources, or anything else you believe needs improvement. After that, you’ll create a plan, research what’s already been done, test ideas, and build something real—whether that’s an invention, a campaign, an awareness program, or another creative solution. Along the way, you’ll get to experiment, solve problems, and make changes to improve your work. You’ll have guidance when you need it and the freedom to explore your ideas in a way that makes sense to you. You’ll also get to share your project in whatever format you like—present it live, create a video, design a slideshow, or write a proposal. This isn’t just a class. It’s an opportunity to prove to yourself that you can take an idea and turn it into something meaningful. If you’ve ever wanted to create real change, this is your chance to start.

📌 Important Note for Parents: Because students will be selecting their own projects, some may require materials that need to be purchased or gathered from home. Any additional materials must be provided and paid for by parents. There will be dedicated time for parents to discuss and decide what materials are appropriate before the learner moves forward with their project. If materials are unavailable, we will explore alternative ways to complete the project using accessible resources. This course CAN be completed without any additional costs above tuition, if it is decided that the learner must make the project work without a budget. Sometimes this is how it goes, so sometimes that's what needs to be learned.

As an experienced educator of 10 years and project-based learning advocate, I have spent years helping students develop critical thinking, creativity, and real-world problem-solving skills through hands-on learning. I have taught self-directed learning, inquiry-based projects, and interdisciplinary studies in both traditional classrooms and alternative education settings.
I specialize in Project-Based Learning (PBL) and have designed and led student-driven courses that integrate STEM, social studies, writing, and communication skills into real-world projects. My focus is on guiding students to take ownership of their learning, develop solutions to meaningful problems, and present their work confidently.
Beyond my teaching experience, I have worked closely with youth leadership programs, robotic workshops, and innovation-driven projects that help students apply their learning beyond the classroom. My approach ensures that students not only complete projects but also gain valuable life skills, preparing them for future academic and career success.
