Students will learn the essential concepts of active reading to improve reading comprehension skills while being fun and engaging. They will interact with the teacher via video and chat in addition to course materials being attached to the platform for reference. The class is structured to meet once a week and will go over the specific needs within the reading comprehension process for each student. There will be in-class activities tailored to the needs of each student in relation to the reading comprehsenion process. Some of the topics that will be discussed are reading the title of a passage, reading at a pace that focuses on understanding each word that is read, summarizing and taking notes on each point, and thinking critically to ask and answer questions related to the passages. These are all essential concepts when reading. Each session will be tailored to the individual student to ensure learning needs are met. Learners will be engaged directly one-on-one with me to get a tailored experience with direct feedback. There is no required experience learners need. This is a recurring private class where learners can get the most out of how to read actively and critically.
