This private tutoring session will include a brief 5-minute "warm-up read" with a leveled text your child will be able to read independently. Next, we will spend 10 minutes on word-work. Word-work will include a making words game, sorting words activity, sight words activity, or an onset/ rime manipulation activity. We will spend the next 10 minutes reading a "new" leveled text on your child's instructional level. Before we read, we will go over the new vocabulary and make some predictions....
Students will practice reading independently leveled texts. Students will practice working with words in order to build phonics and sight word skills. Students will spend time on an "instructional" leveled text, where they can practice new vocabulary and comprehension skills and strategies. Students will practice using spelling and writing strategies to compose a complete sentence or two.
