As a first grade teacher with over 25 years of experience in the classroom, I know first hand that when students struggle in reading, school can be a huge challenge for both students and their parents. Reading is a fundamental necessity that gives students confidence in all other academic areas. Many students can benefit greatly from one-on-one reading instruction. For these reasons and more, I wanted to offer individualized guided reading instruction through Outschool. Our first lesson will be a reading assessment to determine your child's reading level. The next five lessons will be guided reading lessons, tailored to your child's reading level. Lessons can be two 25-min sessions each week or one 50-min session each week. I can work with each individual family to set up a schedule that best suits their child's needs. I look forward to working with your child in the future to help build their confidence in reading!

Hello Parents and Students!
My name is Lori Costa and I have been an elementary school teacher for over 24 years. In addition, I have been teaching online for three years with private, small group, and large group classes. I specialize in teaching phonics, reading, writing, and art.
I have my Bachelor's Degree in Liberal Studies with an emphasis in Children and the Arts. I also have my Multiple Subject Credential with CLAD emphasis.
I have three amazing kids of my own, who range in age from 10 to 19. My husband and I love to travel with our kids and make fun memories together. Trips to the beach are my favorite!
I plan to teach a variety of lessons that incorporate music, movement, art, reading and writing to reach all types of learners.
My philosophy of teaching is to make a personal connection with students throughout each lesson and encourage them every step of the way, instilling a life long love of learning!レビュー
