In this ongoing class, preschool aged students will develop and strengthen math skills. We explore Pre-K through entry level Kindergarten math. In class, I will introduce and reinforce math skills appropriate for Pre-K students preparing to enter Kindergarten and beyond. This math club will resemble circle time only in that it will focus on math skills. Homeschool parents can use this class to assist with introducing skills or supplement learning. The main categories that will be introduced are as follows: counting numbers 1-100, the concept of zero, shapes, sorting, positions, patterns, money, measurement, graphing, addition and subtraction. Students will have an opportunity to engage in class by greeting one another, answering questions, sing-alongs, games and show & tell. I will also read math themed stories that correlate to the concept of the day. Students will have an opportunity to practice concepts in class with weekly provided worksheets and engaging in activities. There is lots of movement in class, learning area needs to allow room to move. Class runs for 18 weeks before starting from the beginning. Your child can join anytime, join for an entire school year or join for 18+ weeks.
