Are you looking for a great way to get your pre-k child reading in time for Kindergarten, or want your older child to review letters/get on a higher reading level (This class is great for pre-k through 2nd grade)? Look no further. This class offers tools your child will need to be a successful and confident reader. During this trial course we will have a quick lesson where we will go over one letter with a song and reinforced activity. This class is a great intro to see if your child interacts well with the teacher, the environment, and the structure. A printable activity will be sent out to you upon enrollment. If you would like extra classes, please reach out to schedule that. Every day in the semester course, learners will have the opportunity to engage with one another, learn new letters in a specific order that they can eventually blend with, and stay engaged throughout class using a variety of strategies to maintain knowledge retention. This course can be used as a main preschool/kinder or supplemental. My name is Alyssa. I’m a Top Educator on the Outschool platform.
I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Utah State University with my Bachelor's of Science Degree in Family Life/Child Development. I have an instructor’s license as well as TESOL and TEFL certifications.
I am very excited to meet you! I have been teaching or tutoring since 2010. I love to teach fitness, music, ESL, math, reading, cosmetology, and anything to do with Disney, especially Star Wars! I am proud to be the original instructor of the Star Wars Jedi workouts for Outschool! I like lightsaber training and finding fun and cool ways to help kids get moving and become more involved with fitness! I have worked with all ages, but working with children is my favorite!
Outside of teaching I love to read, run, swim, go on vacation, and play with my children. I have such a passion for teaching and learning. I am a teacher who loves precision and exactness, while still having a lot of fun! I enjoy incorporating singing, dancing, laughter, and excitement into my classes, while making new friends along the way. It is such a joy when my students learn a new concept or skill. I am energetic and always try my best to help my students succeed. I look forward to our fun adventures ahead in learning together! See ya real soon!
