Dr. Collier will first conduct an assessment to determine each student's language proficiency level and interests. She will then devise a learning plan. Each session begins with a 5-10 minute warm-up that focuses on the skill areas of reading, writing, listening and speaking. Dr. Collier then uses an interactive 15-20 minute mini-lesson of the day to which models a key concept for each students.She will integrate a variety of hands-on learning activities that may include Youtube clips, news articles, story books and other real world materials  . The student will then have 10-15 minutes to apply the concept of the day. The last 5-10 minutes includes a wrap-up and summary of the key ideas for the day and if time permits, a learning game.
