In this polymer clay art class, your student will learn how to use clay techniques to make earrings. Students will learn how to use tools and how to shape clay. We will discuss ideas for earrings and use little cookie cutters to cut earrings out. I will show a few ideas that we will make together. We will learn how to shape and flatten the clay. I will also show how to attach jump rings and jewelry attachments once the clay is cooked. I will teach a coil-style earring and a cutter-style earring in the hour. We may work on one piece over the course of one class, or we may work on several depending on the skill and needs of the learner. I will show students step by step and will have a camera on myself and on my hand while I work.
We will also practice:
- Blending
- Smoothing
- Tapering
- Sculpting
Topics/Ideas:
-Coil: Rainbow-designed earring
-Cutter: Cutter earrings with attachments.
I am skilled at differentiating content for many ages and learning needs in a kind and supportive style. I like to talk with students while they make things and discuss and show what we are working on. Students can ask questions as we go and add to their creations based on prior experience.学習到達目標

Polymer clay will need to be baked in order for the clay to stay intact.
The instructions for baking are always listed on the package or kit of clay that you purchase.

Polymer clay in different colors. (Please be sure to get polymer clay and not Playdough, cloud dough, or plastalina.) Tools: paint brush rolling pin or acrylic roller toothpick Little cookie cutters (Amazon has some affordable kits of earring cutters) plastic knife or butter knife parchment paper to build and bake on plastic wrap Masking tape to tape down a piece of parchment paper to work on. (A silicone mat works as well.) (Jewelry pliers, jump rings, and earring attachments. These are included in many starter kits if you don't have any yet.)
