In this one-time class, students will practice writing a Haiku.

The topic is seasons!

- Students will review the Haiku format, engage in syllable practice, and be given examples of Haikus related to each season.
- This lesson will be taught using lecture slides and interactive demonstration.
- As a class, we will brainstorm "seasonal senses," which will allow us to incorporate a variety of verbs, adjectives, nouns, etc. into our poems.
- We will practice writing our very own Haikus based off a season of the student`s choice.
- At the end of class, we will draw a picture that depicts the setting of our Haiku and share our drawings and poems with the rest of the class!
学習到達目標
Students will practice counting syllables, improve their semantics by identifying "seasonal senses," use their artistic abilities to draw a picture, and practice their social/reading skills by presenting with the class. By the end of class, students will be able to identify the foundational elements of how to write a Haiku poem.
