Welcome to the Play Dough Sweet Treats class, where kids can unleash their creativity while shaping and designing pretend desserts! In this hands-on class, we’ll explore the fun of sculpting ice cream cones, cupcakes, cookies, and more using colorful play dough. Week of April 14: Ice Cream Sundaes & Ice cream Sandwiches Week of April 21: Rainbow Sprinkles & Swirls Week of April 28: Waffle Cone Creations Week of May 5: Build your own Ice Cream Cart What will be taught? Learners will develop fine motor skills, creativity, and sensory awareness as they roll, shape, and decorate their play dough treats. They’ll also explore colors, textures, and basic sculpting techniques. What topics will we cover? • Interactive and hands on shaping play dough into different dessert forms (ice cream scoops, cupcakes, cookies, etc.). • Fun decorating techniques like swirls, sprinkles, and patterns. • Mixing colors to create exciting new “flavors.” • Imaginative play and storytelling with their creations. How is the class structured? Each session will begin with a fun introduction and a quick demonstration of the day’s dessert. Learners will then follow along step by step, with plenty of time to explore their own creative ideas. At the end of class, we’ll share our creations with each other! How will I teach? I use an interactive, step-by-step approach, guiding learners through each design while encouraging them to add their personal touch. I’ll showcase different techniques on screen, ensuring each child can easily follow along. What is my teaching style? My teaching style is engaging, encouraging, and playful! I love creating a fun and relaxed environment where kids feel excited to express themselves and try new things. How much will learners get to interact with me as the teacher? Learners will have plenty of opportunities to interact—they can ask questions, share their creations, and get feedback throughout the class. I love seeing their unique designs and encouraging their creativity!
