Welcome to Friendship Haven Online Learning! Do you have a play-doh loving, early learner in your house? This is the perfect class for them! English as a second language (ESL) learners are always welcome to join too. Topics covered in class will consist of but not limited to: letters of the alphabet, numbers 1-20, animals, days of the week, four seasons, shapes, colors, and more! This class is learner-directed, so topics will be tailored to focus on our current interests! I will ensure each student gets a chance to speak and ask questions if they wish, as well as respecting anyone who may not feel comfortable doing so. I'm a firm believer that children do learn best when they're able to use their bodies to learn, as well as their minds! Topics will be customized based on each group's individual interests and needs. We will learn a different subject daily. English Language Arts, Math, Science and Life Skills weekly. Let's learn together! Week of October 17th - Tuesday - Letter "A" We will talk about capitol and lower case "A", the sounds it makes and what starts with "A"? We will use our own playdough to construct our own letters. Wednesday - Numbers 1 & 2 We will practice counting objects in groups of 1 & 2. Construct numbers 1 & 2 with our playdough, as well as making objects in groups of 1 and 2 number song. Thursday - Animal or Insect focus depending on student interests We will discuss an animal or insect, learn about their habitat, what they eat, and where they live. We will use our playdough to make our own animals or insects together as a class. Friday - Weekly recap of what we learned this week. Discuss our favorite topics and end with show & tell. Week of October 24th Tuesday - Letter "B" Wednesday - Numbers 3 & 4 Thursday - Insect/Animal of weekly interest Friday - Weekly recap and show & tell Week of October 31st Tuesday - Letter "C" Wednesday - Numbers 5 & 6 Thursday - Insect/Animal of weekly interest Friday - Weekly recap and show & tell Week of November 7th Tuesday - Letter "D" Wednesday - Numbers 7 & 8 Thursday - Insect/Animal of weekly interest Friday - Weekly recap and show & tell *keywords: ELA, ESL, early learner, pre-k, preschool, Montessori, creative, art, crafts, kindergarten, primary, pre-primary, pre-kindergarten, early math, science experiment, experiment, hands-on, early learning, school readiness, social skills, show and tell, show and share, play time, playschool, student-led, play and learn, sensory, engaging, add, adhd, genius, child focused, mindfulness

This Friendship Haven class is only taught by Ms. Kathleen because she is our creative play-doh master! She is EXCELLENT and excited to meet your learners. Ms. Kathleen actually worked alongside Friendship Haven's owner, Ms. Sara, and offered unmatched training during Ms. Sara's university studies. Here's a message from her:
Hello, and welcome!
I'm Ms. Kathleen and I am so excited to meet you. I live in Nova Scotia, Canada with my family and all of our pets!
I have been working with children in many capacities for 22 years. I am currently pursuing my Child and Youth Degree, and have recently become certified as a Child Behaviour Specialist. I have completed many child development and psychology classes in my years of studies. I have owned and operated a private preschool childcare centre for 12 years, and it has been an amazing experience that I feel so honoured to have had. I have a passion for teaching, and believe that there is no greater joy than sharing knowledge with children and seeing them learn and grow together.
My classes will allow your child a chance to make new friends, ask questions, laugh, and most importantly-be excited about learning! I am so excited to have your learner along for this new experience with me, and I can't wait to get to know all of you!
