Can your child already identify all of their letters and sounds?  Is your child ready to begin to blend the letters together to read words?  If so, this class is for your little learner!  This self-paced class option is a great choice for students to practice successive blending (Orton Gillingham) over and over again on their own time.

In this self-paced class, we will use the successive blending method.  When using successive blending, children say the first two sounds in a word and immediately blend those two sounds together.  Then, the children say the third sound and immediately blend that sound with the first two blended sounds.  Successive blending is less taxing on short term memory.

This class will be pre-recorded, yet it will still be interactive. While the students are watching me blend the sounds together on my screen, they will have alphabet tile letters to print and cut out (BEFORE CLASS) and they can manipulate their alphabet tile letters to blend the sounds as well!  The students can watch the taping over and over and pause as needed.  

The first 15-20 minute class will be blending CVC (consonant-vowel-consonant) words with the short vowel 'a.'
The second 15-20 minute class will be learning to blend CVC words with the short vowel 'e.'
The third 15-20 minute class will be blending CVC words with the short vowel 'i'
The fourth 15-20 minute class will be blending CVC words with the short vowels 'o' and then 'u.'
