During this ongoing class, your child will first be given an assessment to determine their skill level. The assessment will include: 
Phonological Awareness Assessment 
Phonics Assessment 
Spelling Assessment  
Fluency Assessment (if needed) 
I will share the results with you and will continue to keep you updated on your child's progress throughout the class. After the assessment your child will be given instruction aligned with the Orton-Gillingham approach. One key skill that many struggling readings are lacking is phonological awareness skills. We will begin our lessons with phonological awareness practices. We will then move to the phonics skill/sound that is next in your child's scope and sequence.
