このクラスで学べること

In this one time beginner class, students will learn origami and fold paper to create two beginner bunny designs. Students will create a bunny and Easter bunny egg holder. The Easter bunny egg holder can hold plastic eggs or decorated eggs. The bunnies can be displayed as a part of a centerpiece, table setting, or fill an Easter basket. The bunny is made from one 6" square paper and stands 3 1/2" tall. The bunny egg holder is made from two 6" square papers and stands about 5" tall.

If the student is new to origami and doesn't have origami paper, they can fold white copy paper. Students can also use gift wrap, (I suggest plain on the back, no grid lines) or paper from advertisements that come in the mail, or magazines. If you prefer, origami paper can be purchased online at Michaels, Amazon, and Target. Paper can be one color or pattern on one-side with white on the other side, or two different colors or patterns. I do not recommend construction paper because it is too thick to fold well and students may get frustrated working with it.

Students will need three squares of paper to make the two designs. I used two 6" square papers to make the bunny egg holder and one 6" square paper to make the bunny. Students will need a glue stick to glue the bunny egg holder. If students have plastic eggs at home they can bring them to class to size their bunny egg holder. If students don't have plastic eggs yet and don't know what size their eggs will be, they should wait to glue their egg holder. Plastic eggs vary in size. Students will also need crayons, markers or colored pencils to decorate the bunny faces.

Students can bring multiple papers to class if they want to make more of each design.
