In vet, vet-tech, zoology, biology, etc. school, students do not begin by choosing their animal species to learn. Instead, they learn about all the animals! This class is beneficial for all students considering the vet profession one day. The class will function in this order: 5 minutes: Introductions and welcoming of all new students 15 minutes of instruction via Google Slides (I share screen, students do not need to log in to Google) 5 minutes: Questions and Exploration This class follows suit with my popular vet escape room class Outschool found here: https://outschool.com/classes/ongoing-escape-room-vet-files-one-animal-medical-condition-at-a-time-9-13yo-YmQZR2ws If you have completed the escape room course, please be aware this class is the same material. This class was created by request for students 1) those who needed a more budget-friendly option to access material, 2) those who are uninterested in the escape room, or 3) those a little older. This class allows time for questions and ensures understanding but is not interactive like the escape room. Please enroll via the above link if you desire the extra interaction. Here videos may be included, but it is taught in lecture-style. ** Student requests for ongoing topics are always accepted. I will create a course topic and work it into the schedule. * PLEASE NOTE * Outschool and the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) are very specific about guidelines and rules for diagnosing, treating, and prescribing. I am not a licensed Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and even if I was, Outschool is very specific about rules for this during class. For students who inquire about live animals and pets they own, I will always recommend to see a local vet. Students will not be diagnosing, treating, or prescribing medications for their real animals. Many students enrolling in this course have completed the 18-week Ongoing Course as well but it is not required: It is found here (10-12 year olds): https://outschool.com/classes/biology-veterinarian-club-wild-and-domesticated-animals-UOiCzuiy#usSwirNx6I or here (13+ year olds): https://outschool.com/classes/biology-veterinarian-club-wild-and-domesticated-animals-YYDdEfB5#usSwirNx6I Current Topics and Weeks Include: Many students enrolling in this course have completed the 18-week Ongoing Course as well but it is not required: It is found here (10-12 year olds): https://outschool.com/classes/biology-veterinarian-club-wild-and-domesticated-animals-UOiCzuiy#usSwirNx6I or here (13+ year olds): https://outschool.com/classes/biology-veterinarian-club-wild-and-domesticated-animals-YYDdEfB5#usSwirNx6I Week of 12/29/24: Geckos - Impaction Week of 1/5/25: Horses - Laminitis Week of 1/12/25: Dogs - Congestive Heart Failure Week of 1/19/25: Dogs - Heartworm Week of 1/26/25: Equine - Equine Influenza Week of 2/2/25: Feline - Hyperthermia Week of 2/9/25: Week of 2/16/25: Equine - Encephalomyelitis Week of 2/23/25: Dogs - Head Tilt Week of 3/2/25: Dogs - Obesity in Dogs Week of 3/9/25: Dogs - Gastric Dilation and Volvulus Week of 3/16/25: Week of 3/23/25: Reptiles - Abscesses Week of 3/30/25: Week of 4/6/25: Feline - Distemper in Wild Cats Week of 4/13/25: Birds - Bumblefoot Week of 4/20/25: Equine - Colic Week of 4/27/25: Dogs/Mammals - Leptospirosis Week of 5/4/25: Week of 5/11/25: Week of 5/18/25: Feline - Lower Urinary Tract Disorders Week of 5/25/25: Bovine - Mastitis Week of 6/1/25: Reptiles - Vit A Deficiency Week of 6/8/25: Dogs/Cats - IMHA Week of 6/15/25: Birds - HPAI Week of 6/22/25: Animals - Parasites Week of 6/29/25: Week of 7/6/25: Owls - Birds of Prey Week of 7/13/25: Bovine - Bleeding Calf Syndrome Week of 7/20/25: Dogs - Skin Cancer in Dogs Week of 7/27/25: Rabbits - Rabbit Medical Aide Week of 8/3/25: Reptile - Ball Pythons Week of 8/10/25: Reptiles - Metabolic Bone Disease Week of 8/17/25: Dogs - Dilated Cardiomyopathy Week of 8/24/25: Sugar Gliders - Health Week of 8/31/25: Mammals - Lyssa Viruses Week of 9/7/25: Snakes - Pit Vipers and Scale Rot Week of 9/14/25: Giant Pandas - Health Week of 9/21/25: Week of 9/28/25: Dogs - Parvovirus Week of 10/5/25: Otters - Toxoplasmosis Week of 10/12/25: Hamsters - Health Week of 10/19/25: Equines - PHF in Horses Week of 10/26/25: Birds - Proventricular Dilation Disease Week of 11/2/25: Geckos - Impaction Week of 11/9/25: Week of 11/16/25: Week of 11/23/25: Horses - Laminitis Week of 11/30/25: Reptiles - Cryptosporidiosis Week of 12/7/25: Horses - Strangles Week of 12/14/25: Horses - Overo Coloration Week of 12/21/25: Birds - Psittacine Beak & Feather Week of 12/28/25: Horses - Shivers

There is nothing inappropriate and we do not talk about animal reproduction. However, pee, poop, puke, and farts are common everyday topics in the vet world and will be talked about time and time again. We use veterinary appropriate language such as rectum, uterus, colon, etc. When reproduction questions arise, I often respond, "We don't cover those topics in this particular class, but you can have your parent contact me via message after class and I'm happy to help." If there is a specific question with a swift answer, we always use correct terminology.
