This fun class is for you!

ESL learners are welcome.
 
In this private tutored, individual, One-0n-One course, students will learn to write a personal opinion essay  that introduces a topic, provide reasons, and write conclusions.  Learners will also create the character and write story, using imagination, and creativity.

The focus in this writing class is to develop the habit and love in writing, organizing thoughts, expressing ideas, creativity, and imagination.  This class will help the students develop their confidence through writing.  Reluctant writers are all welcome.


The first session, lessons covered is about Opinion Essay Writing;

During the discussion in opinion essay writing, we will read and brainstorm an example of a personal opinion essay to give them an idea how to make one.  Everyone is encouraged to participate and share ideas.

After the discussion, students will pick one from the given topics to start the writing.
Next, learners will complete the graphic organizer to help them plan their essay writing.
Lastly, students will write their final essay on paper.


The second session, the lessons covered is about Creative Writing;

In the creative writing lesson, students will start from the activity using a blank paper, pencil and prompt questions to create their character.
After the drawing activity, students will write their own story based on the character created.

We will discuss the "elements of the story", and "prewriting process" to guide the students during this process, so they will know what to do.


Everyone will have the chance to read and present their work to the class.
There is no prior knowledge needed in writing.

As a teacher, I will guide them step by step to work on this writing lesson, answering questions and others.

CLASS REFUND

This is a one-time (one-on-one) class, if your learner misses a class meeting, you are not entitled to a refund.  If the learner has not joined  the meeting 10 minutes after the class's start time, the meeting is cancelled and no refund, unless you notify the teacher prior to the start of class.  Teacher is allowed only to wait for 10 minutes before leaving the meeting.

CLASS RECORDING POLICY

I do not share recordings of my  classes in order to protect the privacy of all learners enrolled (many parents do not feel comfortable with other families having access to see the videos that include their child).  However, you are welcome to reach me out if you have any particular questions about something covered in the class.  I will be glad to help and answer.  You are welcome to sign up and attend my class with your child off screen after I verified as per Outschool Policy.

OUTSCHOOL POLICY

To keep your child safe as a teacher I must see/do one of the following;
1. The learner's video is enabled throughout the class
2. The learner connects with me via video at the beginning of class, to allow me verify the learner's identity (the learner can then disable video after their check in)
3.  A " verified" badge appears next to the learner's name in my class roster.  If a learner has a verified badge, they are cleared to have their video off during class and have  been verified by a  member of our team.  Check with the Outschool team if this option is needed.
