Tutoring is one of the most valuable gifts you can give your family. It is a common misconception that tutoring is for struggling students. Really, tutoring is for students who want to learn and grow. Prior to each session, I will reach out to families to determine what their learner's goals are for the upcoming meeting. Students are encouraged to share specific skills they would like to explore or assignments they would like clarification on. This information will determine our learning objectives for the session. Every session will be tailored to focus on the needs of the individual student. During our sessions. students will take the lead as we work through a variety of problems aligned to their goals. Students will have the opportunity to ask any questions they have or share their ideas, as we tackle their goals. Sample topics include: Fractions Algebraic equations Decimals Word Problems Operational strategies At the end of every session, families will receive a progress report that includes feedback on their progress toward their goals as well as suggestions for continued practice. Families will have the option to request follow-up problems that students can complete on their own to work towards mastery. Students are welcome to submit their work on these follow-up problems for feedback.

I am privileged to say that I have spent 20 years working in education. It has been an honor to work with amazing students around the world. My experience has included teaching in traditional classrooms, online education, and homeschooling my own kids. Math has been my focus, but I have taught all subject areas for grades K-12. I have tutored more than 200 students one on one, watching with excitement as each one met their goals. In the classroom, I have worked with students from all backgrounds each with their own unique skill set, to which I have tailored grade level content to meet their goals.
My varied background gives me deep insight into what students need not only at their current level but to be successful where they are headed. Alongside my classroom experience, I have worked in curriculum development. Writing content for leading programs including Johns Hopkins, NSA summer institutes, and more.
