Most people have learned that CH says /ch/, but what about words like “school” and “machine?” I teach all the sounds made by the two-letter phonograms as opposed to teaching the one most common sound. I have a Master of Art in Education and hold a current teaching license for grades K-6 in Virginia. I am a former elementary school teacher. In addition to teaching on OutSchool, I am a homeschool mom to a 7 year old and I provide in-person tutoring. I have taught children how to learn to read as well as to read to learn.
