Please feel free to auto-schedule a meeting with me and then message me if you require a meeting sooner in order to enrol in a course, as the automatic scheduling will not book a meeting any sooner than 14 days out. This class is for all of my current learners. This class is also for prospective students who wish to meet me before enrolling in my longer courses if they have not taken a short course with me yet. This is not a private tutoring session as such, this is a session where I can point you in the right direction if you are stumped or lost with regard to the work that we are doing in class, whether it be an asynchronous FLEX class or a group class where there may not have been enough time to ask questions, or where you did not realise that you had further questions until after class was over and you would rather not wait for the next class to ask your questions, and where you feel as though you require face-to-face communication to understand the answer to your questions, as written communications can lack important nuances at times. You can of course contact me directly to request a live class within a FLEX course itself; this course just gives you an extra avenue of contact. This course is also a great way for learners to have "makeup" classes when they are unable to attend a regular class during a course due to traffic, birthday parties, and weather, to name just a few of the reasons that I have come across. Rather than messaging back and forth to arrange an alternative time, parents and guardians can rest assured that they have the option of short makeup classes available via this course so that their learners can stay up-to-date and not miss out due to unforeseen circumstances. Please forward your questions to me by way or a private message or a post in the classroom as soon as you enroll in this class so that I can have as much time as possible to find or articulate the best and most complete answers possible to your questions. Learners can leave this class if they wish once I have answered their questions, they do not need to stay to the end. They can send their questions to me privately in the chat on Zoom, or they can ask verbally. I will be available for any and all questions during this session for the whole time that it is set to run. If students are bringing material from outside of my classes, please send as much information as possible about it before this live class for context. These office hours are designed to provide a safe place to ask questions, work on homework, go through the material, catch up on missed classes, and more. I will be posting various scheduling options for learners so that there is a variety of times and days of the week that students can get access to the help that they need. Learners are also welcome to arrange a more suitable time that is not yet listed, and I will add it to this class schedule. This is not a requirement for my other classes, but rather it is a supplement to the work we will be completing together. The focus of this class is on the needs of the learners. Learners will come forward with their questions or concerns, or with anything that they are struggling with, and they will have the opportunity to work with Pamela during this time to gain understanding and confidence in the subject. This class is an informal help session for anyone currently enrolled in one of my other classes. Many students may attend this help session, and each session will be different based on the needs of the learners. Learners should attend this class when they need extra support on the material they are currently learning in one of my other courses. And if, for example, you are in my chess class, and you would like to drop in to continue a game in person for several more moves that we are playing via correspondence, then this is a great opportunity to do just that! Topics that I currently have other classes listed for include: Law - Intellectual Property Law Law - The Magna Carta (The Rule of Law) Law - The UN UDHR (The Rule of Law) Law - Australian Constitutional Law Law - International Law Law - This Week In Law - News Law - Case Law - IRAC Method Full Curriculum - Grades 2, 3, & 4 Full Curriculum - Pre-K, Kindergarten, & Prep English - ELA, ESL, & EFL English - Punctuation English - Parts of Speech English - Essay Writing English - Fiction Writing English - Fry Sight Words Mathematics - Elementary Science - Elementary Science - Paleobiology Social Science - Elementary Social Science - Geography Social Science - Sovereignty Life Skills - Public Speaking Life Skills - Chess Life Skills - Doctor Who Life Skills - Afternoon Tea This class is also a fantastic way for my regular learners to stay in contact with me (Pamela). I have so many reoccurring students and I have all types of classes i.e. one-time, ongoing, flex, and multi-day (such as this course). Once some of these classes are over, it is not possible - for privacy reasons - for learners and I to message each other through those individual classrooms. If my regular learners and their guardians/parents/carers want to stay in contact with me throughout all of the classes that they take with me, this is a great way to facilitate that connection and build on the work that we have done together over a longer period of time. I have had several well-meaning parents/guardians/carers try to connect with me via social media in between classes for the very reason described above. I politely explain with each attempt that I am unable to communicate with them outside of Outschool. This class will be able to fill the gap that many carers/parents/guardians evidently feel is necessary to the learning environment for their children, to build relationships with their teachers and tutors. This class makes me more accessible to those learners who require access in between courses with me.
