このクラスで学べること

This Level 2 Music Theory Class is great for learners looking to explore more advanced musical concepts and delve deeper into chords. Learners will get the most out of the class if they've completed my Music Theory Level 1 class or similar. They should be able to read music in both treble and bass clef, know the major scales/key signatures, and have a basic understanding of intervals. If you are unsure whether your learner is ready for this class, please reach out to me. Lessons will be presented using a piano keyboard as a reference, and students should have a basic understanding of the layout of piano keys. However, students do not need to know how to play to complete the class. Each unit will include listening/ear training activities and a written assessment completed through Nearpod.

Week 7: Major Chord Progressions

I hold a Master's Degree in Oboe Performance from the Bob Cole Conservatory of music at California State University, Long Beach. At the Cole Conservatory I had the privilege of studying oboe and English horn with Carolyn Hove. My Bachelor's Degree, also in Oboe Performance, is from the Hartt School of Music of the University of Hartford in West Hartford, Connecticut. While there I studied with oboist Humbert Lucarelli.

I have extensive experience teaching private and group lessons, including lessons in Oboe, Piano, English Horn, Reed Making, and Music Theory. My students have gone on to win scholarships and place in honor orchestras across the country. I am also a current member of MTAC (Music Teacher's Association of California), and my students are eligible to complete their Certificate of Merit program.

Locally, I have performed with the Dana Point Symphony, Symphony Irvine, as well as other groups around Southern California. Previously, I was a long time member of the Cheshire Symphony.
