このクラスで学べること
Music brings colors, emotions and images to the forefront of our minds. In this class the student will listen to acoustic music and create art by using four different kind of techniques. We will do the following art techniques 1. Recycled paper collages 2. Drawing with crayons 3. Water color paintings 4. Black and white doodling using a pen or sharpie. Each class will follow the same schedule. 5-10 minutes introduction when I go over the techniques used and how it works. 15-20 minutes listening to music and creating. 5 minutes clean up and hand washing. 10 minutes where the students can show their art and tell the class how they created it or what it is showing. The music in class will come from Mozart, Bach, Tchaikovsky, Grieg, Brahms, Vivaldi and Georg Riedle. I will also include some klezmer music and native music from Australia. There will be a playlist on Spotify with all songs used in the class. To hear the music the best I suggest the student use headphones. For class 1 the students need 2 papers, newspapers, advertising or other paper and glue. To prepare for class the student can cut or rip the paper into smaller pieces. This can help a younger student get the most out of class. For class 2 the students need 2 papers and crayons in different colors. For class 3 the student needs 2 papers taped together into one bigger. Water, brushes and watercolors. For class 4 the student needs 1 paper and a black pen or sharpie with a thin tip.

The student will need the following art supplies. Old news papers, advertising or other recycled paper in different colors, Glue for example Elmer’s liquid glue Paintbrushes Crayons Watercolors Sharpie or a black pen A bit thicker paper for the art projects for example cold pressed watercolor paper. You can find these art supplies online or at an art supply store for about 30$. The most important thing is to get good sturdy watercolor paper.

Those experiences shaped my commitment to creating an environment where every student feels welcome, confident, and supported. As a teacher, I bring a wide array of subjects to life in my classes, ranging from creative writing and Swedish (my native language) to world religions, the Holocaust, and novel studies with a focus on folklore. With a master’s degree in education and a double major in social and political science and world religions, my professional background equips me to guide students through diverse and complex topics. Having taught across various age groups in Sweden and now the USA, I also incorporate the principles of student democracy, encouraging students to take an active role in shaping their own learning journey.
On a personal note, I’ve always had a vivid imagination—perhaps a result of my Nordic upbringing. As a child in Sweden, I was fascinated yet terrified by the stories of fairies that pervade our folklore. Now, as an immigrant in the USA, I weave that sense of wonder into my own creative works, which have earned me awards for poetry and short stories.レビュー
