Students will be taught in a few easy steps how to multiply a decimal by a decimal and a whole number by a decimal using the standard algorithm strategy. My class will be structured in and "I do", "we do", "you do" style where I will show some examples, have students practice with me, than work through the problems alone. My teaching will allow students to visually see examples, have laid out steps, and share their knowledge with others. We will be using paper pencil or whiteboard and markers to complete the problems. Students need to have multi-digit multiplication understanding along with decimal place value understanding.

I also spent eight years teaching public school students in the ages of 8-10. I find learning to be easiest when charts, visuals, graphs, videos, examples, and manipulatives are used.
