In this weekly, ongoing class, your learner will master how to use the times table chart, practice our multiplication facts from 1-12, and learn some tricks to help remember them! Each week we will cover 2 or 3 times tables. I will share my PowerPoint slides in class. I will first review how to use the times table chart (you will receive one in your welcome email). Then we will multiply our number by 1-12. I use animated slides and represent each math fact with groups of blocks. Then we will learn a trick to help us memorize them. There will be a worksheet sent out before class so the learners may follow along. A second worksheet will be used to review all the math facts again. 

My classes are interactive and fun. It is helpful if the learners are familiar with the concept of multiplication, although it is not mandatory. I always encourage learner interaction and I check in occasionally with a thumb's up to make sure there are no questions before we proceed. The day before class, the 2 worksheets will be posted to the classroom page. I hope to see you in class!

Week of September 2: Multiplication by 9, 4
Week of September 9: Multiplication by 11, 12

Week of September 23: Multiplication by 0, 1, 2

Hello! My name is Erin Howard. I love teaching young learners. My passion is to help your young learner gain the knowledge and confidence in their basic math skills. My math classes focus on skills such as solving word problems, learning math fact families, place value, telling time, geometry, addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. 

I have my bachelor’s degree from Mount Holyoke College. I have owned a home daycare, privately tutored students in math, and was a teaching assistant in college. I have taught over 8,000 classes online.

My goal is to bring fun, excitement, and passion into my classroom. It is important for young learners to be engaged, actively participate, and enjoy learning. This builds the foundation of how they will view their journey for knowledge in the future. I know I have accomplished this goal when my students continue to return to my classroom, and I see their personal improvement and how proud they are of their progress.

Outside of work, I am a mother of five children, and I have three grandchildren. My children are my pride and joy. My youngest two children are twins. They are nineteen years old and they are sophomores in college. We enjoy cooking, baking, playing with our dog, watching movies, shopping, and taking trips to visit new places. 

I look forward to this journey with you and your young learner. I will see you in the classroom.
