(This ongoing Writers Club is for those students who have completed at least 10 classes from the Creative Writing Parts 2-14 class. If your student has not yet taken the Creative Writing for Young Children series, your student will be withdrawn from this class. It is a prerequisite.  Message the teacher if you would like the link to the Creative Writing series. Six and seven year olds will need Part 1. Eight-ten year olds may begin with the Parts 2-14 class.)

As in previous classes with this teacher, each week the teacher will show the students a picture prompt and the teacher and students will brainstorm ideas together and then the students will be provided time to write. If needed, after each sentence is written the teacher will give new ideas to help the student continue the story.  Students will have the opportunity to share their stories with the class as they are writing. Students may or may not have a completed story during the 35 minutes. Some students choose to continue their story after the official class time ends.  That is just fine. Others prefer to put "an ending" on their story before class time is complete. Either way, the students will read everything on their paper aloud to the teacher at the end of class. 

This class has 28 weeks worth of lessons. After your child is in this ongoing class for 28 weeks, the writing prompts will begin to repeat. 

The next writing class that this teacher has for your student is an Editing class that meets on a flexible schedule.  Students will submit a writing that they have written and the teacher will look it over and then send a video response back to them giving suggestions for edits in spelling, grammar and sentence structure.  This Editing flex class may also be taken in conjunction with the Creative Writing classes or with the Writers Club class. If classes are taken concurrently, a $5 discount off the Editing class will be given. Let the teacher know if you have any questions.
