This one time class will engage learners critical thinking skills as they embark on an exciting journey of discovery as they explore the multi-faceted world of the movie. From the complex characters that populate its universe to the profound life lessons that lie within its storyline, learners will delve deep into the heart and soul of the movie and analyze the different moods and themes that permeate each scene.

Learners will be equipped with a movie watching handout that is designed to get them thinking with questions to consider before, during, and after the movie.  

During class, learners will have the opportunity to put their critical thinking and analytical skills to the test through in-depth discussion. Learners will hone their ability to formulate and defend their opinions, as they dissect the film's plot, characters, and themes. Along the way, they will discover the power of cinema to challenge our assumptions and broaden our perspectives, as we explore the nuances of storytelling and the art of filmmaking.

Students are responsible for watching the movie prior to class. Currently available to rent on Amazon Prime Video, You Tube, Vudu, Google Play Movies & TV. Also may be available at your local library.

Class Cancellation: Please note that per Outschool policy, if there are 0 students after the first 10 minutes of the class, the class will be canceled for that day. The live meetings are scheduled for 50 minutes; however, depending upon the number of students and the amount of participation from the class, some live meetings may be shorter than 50 minutes.  If the teacher needs to cancel class a makeup class will be assigned. If the student is unable to attend the makeup class a refund will be issued after the makeup class.
