This fun and energetic acting class will allow leaners to tap into their creative energies. Taught by a thirty-year veteran in arts education, Monologue Madness is ideal for learners who have previously participated in our Rising Star Acting Class or for those who like to have a monologue in their repertoire for an upcoming audition. No previous experience is required. Each learner will receive one-on-one personalized acting coaching on the selected monologue and then have ample opportunity to perform for the others in the class. They will also work on selected age appropriate material, and students will participate in drama activities and exercises that include: speech, diction movement and character development.

The Children’s Theatre Project was founded in September 2000, to provide an artistic and creative outlet for children interested in the performing arts. CTP provides high-caliber theatre training in a safe, fun and energetic classroom environment, taught by dedicated and trained professionals.
At CTP, we focus on the tools of the dramatic arts, offering different classes to students who wish to study the art of theatre at all different levels. We focus on the technique and the theatrical process, where children learn their craft, rather than then solely focusing on the final product. At The Children’s Theatre Project, we believe that through the dramatic arts a child can develop self-esteem, confidence and self-discipline, which can prepare them for a successful future in any given profession.
Founded by Howard Kane, who prior to opening CTP headed up the drama departments at Toronto Montessori Schools and the North York Montessori Learning Centre. Mr. Kane transitioned into teaching after a career as a performer in New York City where he studied and performed on Broadway and Off-Broadway.
Now celebrating its twenty-fifth year in operation, some of CTP’s past productions include; “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory,” “Charlotte’s Web,” “You’re A Good Man Charlie Brown,” “Annie,” “Into The Woods,” “Anne Of Green Gables,” “How To Eat Like A Child,” “Fame,” “Fiddler On The Roof,” "The Goodbye Girl," "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels," "Big," and “School House Rock Live.” The later was produced by The Children’s Theatre Project Ltd. and had a successful run at the 2001 Toronto Fringe Festival.
In 2012, CTP was nominated for The Richmond Hill Chamber of Commerce for an Excellence in Business Achievement Award.
