The learning process of addition will cover various methods such as using a number line, counting objects, counting up, and utilizing visual representations. This class aims to provide a solid foundation on addition concepts along with the appropriate terminology. Since this is a self paced class, students can go through the course at their own pace to suit their personal learning style and schedule however, for maximum retention and practice a week is recommended. For the first day we will talk about the numbers 1-20. Students will design a math placemat as a reference tool for the week to reinforce newly acquired skills. 8 mins of video lessons
Lesson 2:
Adding with manipulatives
Lesson two will focus on using manipulatives and visual models to help students visualize numbers. 16 mins of video lessons
Lesson 3:
Counting On
Introduce counting on as a technique to add numbers, enhancing children's grasp of addition and improving efficiency. 13 mins of video lessons
Lesson 4:
Number Lines
Introduce a number line for adding facts. 11 mins of video lessons

Welcome! My name is Debbie and I am a certified teacher with a Bachelors of Science in Education with a concentration in the visual arts. I also hold Masters in Curriculum and Instruction and I am working on getting one in Technology as well. I have been lucky enough throughout my career to have taught grades K through 6 and be a math and reading interventionist. Math is one of my favorite subjects to teach and I love thinking of creative ways to get students to love it too and gain confidence.
