This is a one to one tutoring class for elementary age math students.  Please let me know which set of state standards you would like to cover for this class. Grades can be given by request. 

 In this game, players explore a fantasy world where they complete quests, take part in magic battles and collect in-game "Pets". To progress, students must answer standards-aligned math questions set by their teacher.

We will work together to choose the math we will work on.  In our first class session we will set up the wizard avatar in the game and we will work though the game tutorial together.  During the game play students will be taking a math assessment to determine what skills they have mastered and which skills still need support.  After the assessment ends we will choose which skills need extra support.  Each week in tutoring we will use the game as a fun way of working on these targeted skills.  Students are also encouraged to play the game outside of class time to work on the skills.

Teacher will demonstrate different ways to play the game during the class. We will also play the game during class. We will have cooperative play and student and teacher will work together during class time in the game to complete tasks.  I will also have teacher challenges where student can  battle the teacher with math problems in the game.

   Each week we will choose what skills you want to work on.   After each class I will put in a weekly challenge for all students to complete in Prodigy.  By completing missions and quests in Prodigy the students will be answering math questions that I have assigned. You can request different math skill each week for your student.  Students can ask questions about math standards that they are having difficulty with and I can show them different ways to solve the problems during class time.

    Prodigy is a adventure based math program that is standards based.  I can assign each student standards or skills from the grade level  or skill level you would like to work on. 
I can give grades and progress reports by request.
