This drop in math class is for students who need help to complete their homework or want to learn addition, subtraction, multiplication and/or division or any other concepts in math including fractions, decimals, etc. I will teach them math facts and short cuts using a growth mind set. In this child centered approach, the pace will be as slow or as fast as each student is comfortable with. Lots of tips to continue math practice including websites will be shared. Students will learn lots of strategies (short cuts) to help them to do their math in a fun and easy way. They will learn ways to memorize the math facts and how to do the questions in the easiest way they can.
I specialized in math and science teaching as I love these subjects and have taught them for over 15 years to hundreds of students. I only use positive language and make sure students feel successful in small steps and challenging them gently until they feel good about math.
I will share a math grid for multiplication practice they can do ahead or during the class.
