This course will cover key Grade 7 math concepts to build confidence and problem-solving skills. Students will explore topics like integers, algebra, geometry, fractions, and real-world math applications through interactive lessons and guided practice. The course is divided into 8 main units, each lasting about two weeks: 1. Integers and Rational Numbers – Positive & negative numbers, operations with integers 2. Fractions, Decimals & Percents – Conversions, comparisons, and real-world applications 3. Algebra Basics – Expressions, equations, and solving for variables 4. Ratios, Rates & Proportions – Understanding and applying proportional reasoning 5. Geometry – Angles, triangles, area, and volume calculations 6. Statistics & Probability – Mean, median, mode, graphing, and probability 7. Expressions, Equations & Inequalities – Multi-step equations and inequalities 8. Real-World Math Applications & Review – Budgeting, applied math, and final challenges Each class is 25 minutes long and follows a structured, engaging format: • 5 minutes: Warm-up challenge or real-life math problem • 10 minutes: Mini-lesson with slides, examples, and interactive discussion • 7 minutes: Guided practice and problem-solving activities • 3 minutes: Wrap-up and challenge question for next class and homework given We use a mix of direct instruction, guided practice, and interactive activities to keep lessons engaging. Our teaching focuses on breaking down complex concepts into simple steps, using real-world examples when possible, and encouraging students to think critically. Our style is engaging, supportive, and interactive! We love making math fun and approachable. We encourage questions, discussion, and active participation to help students feel confident in their skills. Students will interact with us in multiple ways: • Mini-lessons with slides to explain concepts clearly • Live problem-solving and guided practice where students can ask questions • Quick challenges to keep learning fun • Interactive discussions where students can share strategies and answers • Occasional video clips to illustrate key math concepts visually This class is designed to be engaging, supportive, and stress-free, helping learners gain confidence in math while having fun!

I am a qualified math teacher with a teaching degree and a math degree, bringing over 21 years of experience to the classroom. I have taught middle school math and love helping students build confidence in problem-solving through engaging, interactive lessons. My approach focuses on breaking down complex concepts into simple steps, using real-world examples, games, and hands-on activities to make math fun.
