The focus in this course is learning the concept of multiplying and patterns on how to solve for the answer working mainly on skip counting. This math course definitely will take practice in between sections to memorize the multiplication facts. Skip counting and multiplication will be taught in this class with the focus on the numbers 1 to 12. This will help greatly with math skills that student(s) can apply to other numbers. We will skip count together and do multiplication by taking turns (everyone can still take part in the chat option by sending their answers privately to the teacher). The following ways of learning styles will be included: visual, verbal, hands-on, logical and social. The students will learn by counting paper play money that I will be showing while interacting together. They will also be assigned an optional fun homework making their own paper money. I will show examples on ideas/ways they can make it. We will spend equal time with each numbers (1-12) and end with a review of what was taught. Repetition is the key to memorizing and understanding math concepts as student(s) learn/review skip counting and multiplication. There are no required multiplication experience needed for this course. However, it is important that the child knows how to count up to 100.

This is optional - not required. Paper (multiple pieces similar to a paper dollar size - index cards will work great) and anything they can write with (pencil, pen, crayon and/or markers) will be needed in this course if they want to take part in this activity. I also encourage kids to take notes if they would like to write down what they are learning.

I currently teach grade school and middle school math to my children who I homeschool. I look forward to sharing with you the fundamentals that I've experienced that have worked the best with young students in learning math. I'm offering this class because it's important to understand the concept of multiplication and how to get the answer. I have always loved math and it's still my favorite subject today since grade school and through college. It was always interesting learning multiple ways solving many equations. I found that when more than one technique is used in teaching it makes it easier to understand and complete math problems. Learning the basics of math and understand it well will help strengthen skills that can be applied to more complex equations making easier to solve.レビュー
