This one-time class will introduce learners to life at the Poles. What are the differences between the the North and South Pole? How do marine creatures survive these extreme environments? Which creatures live where? Why would they choose to live in such a cold (and often windy) place? How have they adapted to live and thrive there? What are the threats facing the Poles? We'll answer these questions and more. I will share a presentation, packed with photos and videos to inspire and illustrate the science we are learning. Our style is informal but grounded in science and designed to help everyone learn. We encourage lots of questions and sharing of knowledge and while there's no previous knowledge required I know there are lots of would-be marine biologists out there so we aim to stretch even the most committed ocean lover. There is an optional worksheet to complete after the lesson.
学習到達目標
