About the Class Introduce your young learner to the beauty of the Chinese language with Skillabration’s Chinese 1:1 Tutoring for ages 3-7. Our personalized lessons are designed to make learning fun, engaging, and developmentally appropriate for young children. Through interactive activities, your child will build a strong foundation in Mandarin while exploring Chinese culture in an exciting and meaningful way. What Will Be Taught? We can accommodate learners of all levels, but here is an example of a class agenda for a beginner. -Basic Mandarin vocabulary (greetings, colors, animals, and more) -Simple sentence structures and common phrases -Tones and pronunciation -Cultural traditions and celebrations Class Structure Each one-on-one lesson is structured to keep young learners engaged and excited: -Mini Lesson: Introduce a new topic with a short, child-friendly presentation or story. -Activity: Reinforce learning with fun games, songs, or interactive exercises. -Practice: Apply the new skills through simple conversations or hands-on crafts. -Teaching Style Our teaching approach is tailored to young children, featuring: -Play-based learning with songs, stories, and games. -Visual aids like flashcards, videos, and props to support understanding. -Encouragement of participation with questions and interactive activities. -Gentle, positive reinforcement to boost confidence and motivation. -Children will have plenty of opportunities to interact with the tutor, ensuring a highly personalized learning experience that caters to their interests and pace. Ms. Jing Liu is from northern China, a region known for its proper Mandarin pronunciation. She has been a certified language instructor for ten years. She holds a Mandarin proficiency certificate and earned her BA in English Language and Literature from a Chinese university. Currently, she is pursuing her master's degree in the United States. Her initial employment with an American charity inspired her to work with children, and for the past decade, she has focused on their education. She has traveled to various locations to teach; she previously taught at a preschool in Singapore and co-founded her own school with her husband in China.
Jing has taught students aged 2 to 18 years, including those with learning difficulties who were previously overlooked by other teachers. She consistently considers the needs of her students and prioritizes their feelings, as she believes that a happy child is more capable of effective learning. Following the pandemic, she returned to the United States with her family. Since that time, she has been engaged in online teaching. She values this innovative pedagogical approach, as it allows her to connect with students globally.
