Students will be taught about various mythological goddesses while learning how to use *makeup to create the "looks" of each of the goddesses. There will be a different goddess featured in each class meeting. The goddesses featured in this class span various mythologies and cultures. If students would like to apply their makeup during class meetings, then they will need to have the following basic supplies available: Makeup brushes, blush in various colors, eye shadows or palettes of various colors & types (darker shades, lighter shades, matte, metallic, etc.), eyeliner (black or brown & a few colors such as purple or blue), mascara (black or brown), lip colors (neutral, pink, red, purple, brown, etc.), and makeup wipes. Here is a schedule for the topics covered each week: 2022 Week of Sep. 14: Parvati Week of Sept. 21: Pele Week of Sept. 28: Isis Week of Oct. 5: Ostara Week of Oct. 12: Artemis Week of Oct. 19: Nyx Week of Oct. 26: Hecate Week of Nov. 2: Renenutet Week of Nov. 9: Medusa (not technically a goddess, but she is like a goddess to me) Week of Nov. 16: Hel Week of Nov. 23: HOLIDAY BREAK Week of Nov. 30: The Snow Queen Week of Dec. 7: Frigg Week of Dec 14: Alcyone Week of Dec. 21: Frau Holle Week of Dec. 28: NO CLASS MEETING 2023 Week of Jan. 4: NO CLASS MEETING Week of Jan. 11: Morana (Marzanna) Week of Jan. 18: Chang'e Week of Jan. 25: Athena Week of Feb. 1: The Muses Week of Feb. 8: Aphrodite Week of Feb. 15: Hathor Week of Feb. 22: Saraswati Week of Mar. 1: Hera Week of March 8: Demeter Week of March 15: Persephone Week of March 23: Psyche Week of March 30: Gaea I will tell students the myths and stories about the goddess scheduled for that meeting during each class meeting. I will be doing a live makeup tutorial while I'm talking to the students about each goddess. There may be times when I use a slide presentation or a video clip. I encourage students to ask questions and share their thoughts and ideas. I want learners to have an interactive & engaging experience in my classes. No prior knowledge is required; however, parents need to make sure that their children can safely apply makeup. *No specific brands will be endorsed in this class.*
