Students will learn to identify a skill they possess or a hobby they love that other people need help with and they will:
•	Determine how/where they can provide their service: virtual/phone/onsite
•	Identify the target market for their service
•	Review the  competition to see how they can make their service better
•	Develop a marketing plan including how they can best advertise to reach potential customers 
•	Set the price and get, ready, set, go!.

As a tenured, certified Business Teacher and Business Owner I know how to start  a successful service business and teach others how to start a successful small business well. Whether this involves selling a product or a service,   I have a track record of success helping students achieve their new business goals. Entrepreneurial at heart, I have founded and managed an innovative business advisory and college and career coaching consulting practices.

Based on my extensive experience teaching Entrepreneurship and marketing, I know how to make it interesting and practical.  I use video clips and engaging handouts to make the content  easy to understand and put into action.  This class is interactive, not lecture based, so students will have the opportunity to discuss, share experiences, and ask questions.

Students will complete a short business plan for our 2nd class. A worksheet will be provided which will encourage students to think about important aspects of their proposed new business including competition, advertising, and service delivery.
