数学の魔法の瞬間 - 初等代数の準備のための数学ゲーム（9〜13歳）

Math can be extremely fun, especially when approached in a fun way!  In this class, students will play a variety of games to reinforce basic math operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division).  We'll discuss different strategies for solving problems and deepen the understanding of how numbers work!  No prior experience with the games are necessary- I will provide examples at the beginning of class and help with strategies along the way.  Challenge problems will also be provided when possible for those a bit more experienced with the game.  I am a firm believer in "think time", so students will have an opportunity to work out each puzzle before volunteers are called on to share the answers.

Games we will play:  

Class 1:  24- Students will be given 4 numbers and must create the answer of 24 using all four numbers. 
Class 2:  Kakooma-  Given a group of numbers, students must find the addition or multiplication fact.
Class 3:  Emoji Puzzles- Picture puzzles will be used to reinforce students ability to solve equations (also incorporates order of operations).
