In this one-time, 30 minute beginner ASL enrichment class, students will learn a wide-variety of American Sign Language vocabulary signs. Class will begin with a quick hand warm-up, children will learn to sign a “Hello” song, and learn some letters in ASL with our name song. Students will learn the numbers 1-10 in ASL and play a short number game. We will take turns answering simple questions using signs we learn during our class. Next we will learn to sign along to “Five Little Monsters Jumping on the Bed!” Listen and sign along to music together, laugh and play as we meet my puppet Blue, finishing with an ASL Storytime reading of “My Monster Mama Loves Me So” and by signing a “Goodbye” song. A fun, comprehensive, easy-paced beginner ASL lesson for children with little or no ASL experience.

Students will learn to sign “Hello” and “Goodbye” songs, learn a few ASL alphabet letter signs, counting signs 1-10, learn 2 monster-themed songs in Sign Language and hear a story. We will work on building a solid ASL vocabulary foundation through simple conversation, puppets, Storytime, answering repetitive questions in ASL and having fun!
