このクラスで学べること
In this live one-time class, students will learn fascinating fun facts about many obscure dinosaurs - those dinos that are less-well-known to most of us, and aren't regularly celebrated at museums or represented in media or toys. After a live and creative presentation, learners will engage with me in wonder-aloud discussions about the information we just covered and all things dinosaurs and natural history. These discussions are an opportunity to ask open-ended questions and use our imaginations together to wonder more about these amazing creatures. My goal is that this nourishes each learner's interest in dinosaurs and natural history through this group engagement and conversation. The atmosphere of this class is casual and laid back, and all learning styles and personalities are welcome here. Every effort will be made to make this as an inclusive learning experience as possible. That being said, and since this class is a wonder-together and discuss-together kind of class, certain classroom decorum and respect of others is expected (the rules of which I will outline and go over at the start of class). As much as we are discussing "facts" about dinosaurs, we will also be wondering about them, and "wondering" entails using our imaginations and the creative parts of our minds, as well as asking open-ended questions that don't necessarily have right or wrong answers. This will be a respective and tolerant class to the imaginations of all learners present. This is a safe space for all neurodivergent kids as well. I'm happy to answer any parent and/or student questions - so, please, don't hesitate to ask. Also, if you don't see a date/time that works for you, feel free to make a schedule request (this input is always helpful).

Parental guidance is completely optional for this class - depending on the individual student's needs, learning style, and personality.
Content Warning: The topic of evolution may come up in any given section, considering we are discussing dinosaurs and the time periods in which they roamed. I discuss and teach the topic of evolution from an objective and scientific perspective. At any point in which the topic of evolution (or any topic, really) becomes divisive or argumentative, I will take appropriate action to diffuse the situation and move our conversation in a different, more positive, direction.
I'm happy to answer any questions parents may have, so please don't hesitate to reach out.

I have had a love for dinosaurs and natural history since I was five years old that has never wavered. Now, as an adult, and a creative educator and parent, I enjoy even more sharing my passion of dinosaurs with students of all ages! I value the opportunity to wonder, imagine, and learn more about these creatures with kids - it nourishes their fascination as well as mine.
