These are not required; they are offered just for some fun extra practice! Each lesson will begin with a quick review of the letters and letter sounds. Then students will be introduced to three sight words that they will learn through a variety of fun and engaging ways. For example, I will use computer slides, games, flashcards, spelling out loud, and many more techniques to help your young reader get a good grasp on sight words. At the end each session, your child will write a sentence using the sight words from the lesson. I post extra practice pages that can be completed after each video lesson. If your child does one lesson per week, it will take 6 weeks to complete the entire class. It is possible to do 2 or 3 lessons per week; that will make the completion time 2 or 3 weeks. Since this is a self-paced class, your learner can work at his/her own speed!

Learners who have some knowledge of letter names and letter sounds will benefit most from this class.

Your child should have something to write on. We practice writing the sight words and the sentences. A whiteboard and expo marker works well. Of course, paper and pencil is fine, too.
