K-POPの歌詞を学ぼう

Do you love listening to K-Pop, but struggle to sing along to a foreign langauge? No Korean language experience necessary! We will read through lyrics line-by-line and practice singing popular K-Pop songs together.

If you can read Hanguel, great! If not, I will lead you through the pronunciation. Throughout reading, I'll mention some rules and things to notice about the Korean language, but our main goal will be to pronounce lyrics like your favorite K-Pop idols. We will read a line at a time at a slow speed. We will stop at various points to sing along with the music (at a reduced speed). The entire class time will be focused on the song of the week.

This is also a great option for those learning Korean that would like more immersion opportunities. The more you listen and speak in a target language, the fast you can improve. You may start to notice language patterns and common words the more often you listen to Korean.

Students may choose to have sound on and I can give pronunciation feedback, or students are welcome to keep their microphones off and speak to themselves. I will be using embedded videos in a presentation, but will also share a link in the classroom, so students may view lyric videos outside of class as well.

Students may leave song requests in the classroom and I will be sure to add and swap them in to future weeks. All lyrics will be previewed beforehand to avoid any extreme violence, excessive swearing, adult sexual themes, or other inappropriate topics.
