This Executive Functioning class is designed to help young learners develop essential life skills, such as organization, time management, focus, self-regulation, and problem-solving. This class provides a fun, engaging, and structured environment that empowers children to manage their schoolwork and personal tasks more efficiently, build confidence, and become more independent. Our class is designed to be interactive and hands-on, with a variety of engaging learning methods to accommodate different learning styles. Each session is structured with a combination of the following: Introduction (10-15 minutes): A brief, engaging introduction to the day’s topic through discussion, storytelling, or video clips. Main Lesson (20-25 minutes): Teaching the skill or concept through interactive activities, examples, and demonstrations. This is often broken into smaller, digestible steps. Practice and Application (20 minutes): Students will participate in hands-on exercises, games, or problem-solving tasks to apply the concepts learned. This includes group activities, role-playing, or creating personal action plans. Reflection and Discussion (10-15 minutes): A closing time for the group to reflect on the lesson, share progress, and ask questions. This ensures that students internalize what they’ve learned and feel heard. I use a student-centered, interactive approach to teaching, ensuring that each child is engaged and actively participating. Each session is carefully designed to incorporate: Visual aids (charts, infographics, planners) to make abstract concepts more concrete and accessible. Games and hands-on activities that build practical skills in a fun and relatable way. Role-playing to simulate real-life situations where students can practice new skills. Storytelling and video clips** to illustrate key concepts in a way that captures children’s imaginations. My teaching style is dynamic, encouraging, and supportive. I emphasize a positive, growth-oriented mindset where children feel safe to make mistakes, try new things, and celebrate their progress. I strive to create a classroom environment where every student feels empowered to participate and take ownership of their learning. I believe that children learn best when they feel involved and when their individual needs are acknowledged. My approach fosters both academic and emotional growth. Interaction is key to ensuring that children grasp and apply what they’re learning. Here's how students will engage: **Lectures**: Short, engaging explanations that encourage questions and participation. **Games and Activities**: Interactive exercises and games that allow children to practice the skills they’re learning. I actively participate with students in these exercises to model behavior. **Group Discussions**: Students will have the opportunity to share their thoughts, ask questions, and discuss what works for them. **Personal Check-ins**: Throughout the course, I will meet with students individually or in small groups to assess progress and provide tailored guidance. What makes this class unique? **Hands-on Learning**: Every session is designed to provide practical tools children can use immediately in school or at home. **Fun, Interactive Environment**: The class isn’t just about lectures. We play games, solve problems, and create strategies in a way that makes learning enjoyable. **Personalized Support**: I ensure that each child gets the support they need to be successful, with time for individual check-ins and feedback. **Real-World Application**: We link every lesson to real-life tasks, such as organizing homework, managing time for projects, or solving everyday problems. This class offers a unique, enriching experience that equips kids with tools they can use for school, at home, and beyond, while fostering an attitude of confidence and independence.

教師の専門知識と資格
I bring a combination of professional training, hands-on experience, and a passion for helping children develop essential life skills. I have a solid foundation in both counseling and education, which uniquely qualifies me to teach executive functioning skills to elementary school children.
I am currently pursuing my Master’s in Mental Health Counseling, with a focus on becoming a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate (LMHC-A). As part of my training, I’ve gained extensive knowledge of child development, mental health, and effective therapeutic interventions for children, including those focused on building executive functioning skills. My studies have equipped me with a deep understanding of how children learn, how to help them regulate their emotions, and how to create a structured environment that fosters growth and independence.
I have taught executive functioning strategies both as part of my role as an elementary school counselor and through targeted after-school programs. In my role, I work directly with children to help them build the skills needed to stay organized, manage time effectively, and regulate emotions. I've worked with students who face challenges in executive functioning, and I’ve helped them develop strategies to succeed both academically and personally.
In addition, I have facilitated small group sessions focused on building executive functioning skills, including planning, goal-setting, and problem-solving. My experience working with students in small groups has given me the ability to tailor lessons to meet each child's specific needs, ensuring they feel supported as they develop these important skills.
My experience working with children in both educational and counseling contexts has shown me the transformative power of executive functioning skills. I’ve seen firsthand how teaching children to be organized, manage their time, and regulate their emotions can improve not only their academic performance but also their confidence and emotional well-being. I am passionate about providing children with the tools they need to succeed and thrive, both in school and beyond.
I am excited to teach this course because I believe these skills are foundational to lifelong success and can make a significant difference in children’s academic achievements and overall confidence.
