This class will help your child learn basic phonics by teaching word families.  I will teach this class on the word families /at/ & /an/.
Class structure:
-introductions and welcome
-letters /a/, /n/, /t/ names and sounds
-writing words using beginning, middle and ending sounds
-changing only one letter, make new words
-introduce word chunks, or word families, and sort words by their chunk
-differences between the letter /n/ and the letter /m/.
-guide students in spelling new words within the word families
-students read new words from the same word families
-students identify words within a text from the word families
-if time, students will think of new words from the word families
-goodbye
