Students will learn the sounds of the alphabet phonograms, including the THREE sounds of 'a' and 'u' and the FOUR sounds of 'y' which are not typically taught in schools. Students will learn all five reasons for silent final e and other seldom-taught spelling rules. As a result of this learning students will read most words made up of the alphabet letters. 

I taught 1st Grade for five years and one each of 4th and 5th. I taught all three of my children to read using this method and all consistently scored in the upper 90th percentile on reading tests and also challenged themselves with the books they read. I've tutored many children who learned to read very effectively. The phonograms and spelling rules I use are not taught in most schools and children who learn this way have a decided advantage over those who don't.

Parents will be provided with resources for download and will be expected to utilize the checklist provided as a guide to fully take advantage of the resources. This will result in the greatest growth for their children.
