This class will cover basic keyboarding skills. The goal is for your learner to be able to touch type and not need to look at the keys.

Skill and drill was always the way, we learned our multiplication facts and keyboarding skills by doing the same thing repeatedly.  In this class we will do that.  We are working hard to make our brain and muscles to always know where to go when we think of the letters and words we want to put on the page.  I will keep the class moving and engage students during the process.  It is important to note that this class uses repetition and practice to build muscle memory using the keyboard.  Your child will also be given a username and password to practice their skills in between classes.  This is not a gamified experience but instead straight up typing.

Students must know their alphabet and be able to recognize all the letters of the alphabet.  

Students will need to be typing during class.  The teacher will provide instruction while the students are working.  Students will log into a site and type in that site so that I can monitor their typing as we go.

To be the most successful in this class students are encouraged to practice 15+ minutes a day.  They are given a login to do this.  We are building muscle memory and the more they practice the more successful they will be.
Students are also encouraged to keep their cameras on.  This helps hold them accountable to not looking at the keys while they type.

  On our final day we will review all our learning and have a celebration of our learning.
