Students will practice the basics of programming, problem solving and critical thinking skills with Scratch Jr. while learning Spanish weekly. Students will listen to a Spanish Read Aloud first and then code a short program using Scratch Jr. Students will have the opportunity to use academic and conversational Spanish in class. Please download the app: Scratch Jr. before class. I strongly recommend you join class using a different device in order to see teacher's screen and follow along. The following coding skills will be taught during class: - use and code one or more characters - change the look of a character - use one or more backgrounds - create your own character and/or background - add voice to characters - use repeat command - use message command Students will follow along with teacher as they create a project based on the book theme. Students will listen to an electronic book during class. Students will also use the Scratch Jr. app for coding. The app is free and can be downloaded on a tablet or Chromebook. The app is free and does not require a special login.

Hello! My name is Cynthia Burleigh. I live in Texas. I graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with a Bachelor in Science in Information Systems. I started my career in a banking institute, but quickly realized I wanted to become a teacher. I have been working in education for 15 years, 3 years teaching with Outschool. I am Bilingual Certified - speak English and Spanish and teach Bilingual and ESL students. My teaching experience includes: Robotics, Codings, Spanish, Pre K - 3rd grade Bilingual instruction, Bilingual Reading Specialist, and STEM teacher.
I love to teach Reading, Math, Spanish, Technology and STEM (including robotics). I love spending time with family, teaching, and running. A little fun fact about me...I run marathons for fun! I can't wait to see you in class.レビュー
