Class Description: "Learn Piano the Easy Way" Summer Class (8 Weeks)

Class Overview:
In this fun, interactive 8-week summer class, children will dive into the world of piano and songwriting in an exciting, engaging way. Designed for beginners, "Learn Piano the Easy Way" teaches essential piano skills while encouraging creative expression through songwriting. Students will learn how to read music, understand rhythm, and play songs on the piano, all while discovering the basics of writing their own melodies and lyrics!

By the end of the summer, each student will have a solid foundation in piano, along with their very own original song!

Class Experience:
1. Week-by-Week Learning Focus
Each week, students will be introduced to new piano techniques, music theory concepts, and songwriting exercises:

Week 1: Introduction to the piano and basic hand positions. Start learning easy songs while focusing on rhythm.

Week 2: Learn to read music and play simple melodies with the right hand.

Week 3: Dive into the left hand! Start learning how to play with both hands and explore simple chord progressions.

Week 4: Explore songwriting! Learn how to create a melody using the notes you’ve learned on the piano.

Week 5: Develop your song further with lyrics and explore different ways to write your own words.

Week 6: Experiment with rhythm and tempo. Learn how different rhythms can change the feel of your song.

Week 7: Combine what you’ve learned! Fine-tune your song and practice performing it with your piano accompaniment.

Week 8: Performance time! Each student will have the chance to perform their original song and showcase their progress.

2. Hands-On Learning:
The class is designed to be interactive and hands-on. Students will:

Play piano every week, learning new skills at a comfortable pace

Use fun, engaging activities like rhythm games, piano challenges, and songwriting exercises

Work on their own original song, which they will perform at the end of the summer

Receive personalized feedback and encouragement from the instructor to help build confidence and musical skills

3. Creative Songwriting Process:
In addition to piano technique, students will explore the exciting world of songwriting. Each student will create a short, original song with their own melody and lyrics! The class provides a great opportunity to introduce young learners to the fun of creating their own music, fostering creativity and self-expression.

4. Performance Opportunity:
At the end of the 8 weeks, students will have the chance to perform their original song for their family and friends in a fun, supportive environment. This performance is an important milestone, helping to build confidence and celebrate their musical journey.
