This class is also offered as a camp: https://outschool.com/classes/spring-break-camp-learn-how-to-create-minecraft-in-unity-beginner-KNN0oesy In this course, students will learn how to create the basic Minecraft functionalities using Unity, which is a game engine that will allow us to create our game quickly and export it to any device. I will show and explain how to create parts of the game while students follow along. In this course, we will be exploring the drag and drop functionality of unity as well as learning how to code in C#. We will be covering basic coding concepts like working with variables, functions, and the game loop so no coding experience is required. I will also give out a challenge after every class so students can experiment and grow their knowledge. Please make sure that you can download the free version of Unity from here: https://store.unity.com/download-nuo Please download unity before the class starts so you can make sure it will work with your computer/laptop and it will help ensure all students are ready to start the game in the first class instead of waiting for the program to download. If you need help follow these steps: https://cdn.filestackcontent.com/W2iK4LIrRMCadUs5dztE Class 1 and 2: I will show and guide students how to setup our Unity project. (Please have Unity installed). I will also go through some of the basics of how unity works and different functionalities. Then they will learn how to add Minecraft cubes to our game with different textures. We will also go over adding the player and first person camera movements. Class 3 and 4: In these classes we will be working on adding the building cubes to our game by first adding a game cursor and a cube outline to help the player visualize where the cubes will be placed. Then we will add the code to detect if a block can be placed and removed. Class 5: In the last class, we will be finishing up adding cubes and also adding the player jump functionality. If we have enough time in this class I can also go over how to add different types of blocks with a UI inventory selector. Topics the course covers: Navigating in unity How to import models to unity How to add texture to individual sides of a model Adding colliders Adding prefabs with code in runtime Basic C# coding Creating a first person camera movements Working with Ray and Raycast Public and private variables Keyboard control to move and make the player jump Adding on screen user interface Please note: Chromebooks, tablets and iPads will not work for this class. Also, if the student is outside of the age range but you think they still may be suitable for this class, please contact me before signing up. They should have experience navigating around a computer and be able to listen and follow instructions well with minimal help. Also note that this class is recreating your own Minecraft game, it does not cover any modding. Please review my class rules and policies: https://cdn.filestackcontent.com/ossRr9woS9idai4ZVpuF

教師の専門知識と資格
I have a degree in computer science and have been coding for over 10 years. I have also worked a few years in the industry creating desktop games. As someone who was originally self taught I know how important it is to learn code by being very hands-on and experimenting, which is how I will be teaching.
